A practical operator’s perspective

See the whole business, then fix the right part first.

David’s consulting work brings together financial analysis, pricing, sales, marketing, customer experience, and day-to-day operations. The objective is not activity for its own sake. It is to understand why the business is producing its current result and identify the changes most likely to improve it.

His experience spans owner-run businesses in automotive, professional services, retail, restaurants, specialty pet care, wellness, home services, and other local industries. Although the products change, the recurring questions are familiar: Which work is truly profitable? Where is cash leaking? What makes customers buy, return, or leave? Which process is making good employees less effective?

David studied at Idaho State University and has also contributed volunteer logistics support to the Blind Center of Nevada. He is based in Las Vegas and works with businesses locally and beyond.

Connecting payment costs with the rest of the business.

Payment processing is one part of a larger operating picture. An owner needs to understand the fees, but also how a customer pays, how the team handles a refund, and what happens when support is needed. David’s work connects these practical questions with pricing, costs, and the way the business delivers its services.

BlueFinch’s outreach is predominantly in person. The team visits businesses to meet owners and help with sign-up. This makes the business itself an important setting for the conversation: the counter, the customer flow, and the staff’s daily routines all provide context for evaluating a change.

David is based in Las Vegas. To discuss a visit, describe your business and the issue you want to address through the contact page. Location, timing, and the scope of the work can be discussed before making arrangements.

Operating principles

01

Follow the money.

Measure complete costs and contribution before treating more sales as the answer.

02

Watch the work.

The real process is often different from the process described in a meeting.

03

Fix in sequence.

Stabilize cash and stop recurring losses before adding complexity or volume.

04

Make it usable.

A strategy is valuable only when the owner and team can execute it consistently.
